In compliance with the resolutions of the 42nd Council of the OIC Ministers of Foreign Affairs, held in Kuwait-City on 27-28 May 2015, which “emphasized the need for coordination among the OIC institutions in order to enhance synergy, efficiency, shared responsibility and service delivery for the effective implementation of decisions and resolutions of the OIC Summit, Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) and other ministerial conferences”, the OIC General Secretariat held the inaugural Session s of the Annual Coordination Meeting of OIC Institutions (ACMOI) at the OIC Headquarters in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 7-8 December 2015.

In this regard, the OIC General Secretariat has initiated an Annual Coordination Meeting of OIC Institutions (ACMOI) every December starting from the end of 2015.

During the first meeting held in December 2015, two subcommittees were created: a subcommittee on Trade and Investment (TISC) under the chairmanship of the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) and another on the development of the Private Sector and Finance (FIDEPS) under the direction of the Islamic Development Bank Group then under SESRIC since 2019.

Five integrated projects have been initiated namely: development of Halal Industry, the Single Window Initiative and Trade Facilitation, the development of strategic products; Investment Promotion and Support for Investment Promotion Agencies of OIC Member States, private sector and SMEs development.

Thus, the TISC subcommittee organized 4 meetings (16-17 March 2016 in Marrakech, 6-7 March 2017 in Casablanca, 8-9 March 2018 in Marrakech and 1st April 2019 in Marrakesh dealing with trade and investment and two technical meeting in Jeddah at ITFC headquarters to coordinate the activities of the Member Institutions (27 May 2016 and 9 February 2017).

Following the recommendations the Fourth Annual Coordination Meeting of the OIC Institutions (ACMOI) and the third  Meeting of Trade and Investment Sub-Committee of ACMOI (TISC) held respectively in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 3-4 December 2018 and in Casablanca on 8th March 2018, the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) organized the Fourth Meeting of the TISC in Marrakesh on 1st April 2019. This Meeting was chaired by the Director General of ICDT and the CEO of ITFC.
